33 Ideas: Divorce Self-Care
Updated: Oct 17, 2022
Do you have a self-care practice?
If you're getting divorced, you've probably heard it a million times...you need to do your self-care!
But...self-care isn't bubble baths, spa treatments, and eating anything and everything you want. It also doesn't mean spending lots or money or even leaving your home.
I know...you're getting divorced...you feel bad every day...you don't know what your financial future holds...and you don't have enough time to do half the things on the to-do list. Taking care of yourself seems selfish and indulgent.
I get it…I've been there...when you’re navigating a divorce, life is chaotic and exhausting
Some days the best you can do is get out of bed. Some days even that doesn’t happen. Old routines are gone. Sometimes you spend all your time and energy just getting through the day. BUT…this is the time when you need support and consistency the most. Even just a quick 5 minute break can reset the tone for the day.
Here are some ideas:
Drink a glass of water with lemon
Go for a walk
Meditate or listen to a guided meditation
Read affirmations
Sing
Stretch or do yoga
Pray
Spend time with your pet
Journal
Make a to-do list (or a "not-to-do" list)
Do a cross-word or sudoku
Call a trusted friend
Play an instrument
Water your plants
Take a warm shower or a bath
Read
Sit...just sit and breathe
Take a nap
Watch funny YouTube videos

Savor a cup of tea
