Self-care 101: Begin...
Updated: Mar 12
Do you have a self care practice? I get it…some days the best you can do is get out of bed. Some days even that doesn’t happen. I've been there…when you’re navigating a divorce, life is chaotic and exhausting. Old routines are gone. Sometimes you spend all your time and energy just getting through the day. BUT…this is the time when you need routines the most. Even just a quick 5 minute break can set the tone for the day. Here are some ideas:
Drink a glass of water with lemon
Go for a walk
Meditate or listen to a guided meditation
Read affirmations
Sing
Stretch or do yoga
Pray
Spend time with your pet
Journal
Make a to-do list (or a "not-to-do" list)
Do a cross-word or sudoku
Call a trusted friend
Play an instrument
Water your plants
Take a warm shower or a bath
Read
Sit...just sit and breathe
Take a nap
Watch funny YouTube videos
Dance
Savor a cup of tea
Clean out a drawer or closet
Stop scrolling
Go for a swim
Cook or bake
Search online for inspirational messages and quotes
Make a gratitude list
Light a candle
Sudoku, cross-word, jigsaw
Go outdoors
Knit or crochet (if you don't know how,..learn on YouTube)
Eat a snack (whole foods are best)
